Joseph E Davis - CEO & Co-Founder
Mr. Davis has 30 plus years of broad business and professional services experience including 27 years with KPMG LLP and three years with Tatum LLC. His clients range from private start-up to large public, multi-national companies in the technology, industrial, consumer products and retail markets.
Mr. Davis co-founded Etonien LLC in July 2008. Etonien offers experienced finance and accounting consultants to companies seeking assistance on project, interim or interim-to-hire assignments - with a special focus on Interim CFOs and Interim Controllers. Etonien is founded on the basic principle of providing highly qualified professionals to clientele who require immediate response.
Prior to co-founding Etonien LLC, Mr. Davis was the Managing Partner of the Los Angeles practice for Tatum LLC from December 2004 to July 2008. Tatum LLC is a US based executive services and consulting firm with approximately 1000 partners and principals in 37 offices across the country. Mr. Davis was formerly a partner with KPMG. During his 27 year KPMG career he spent time in the following offices: Orange County, California; Columbus, Ohio; Executive office; Metro New York and Los Angeles, California. Some of his positions included; Managing Partner of the Los Angeles offices; National Partner-in-Charge of Human Resources-Tax, Senior Partner for global and national accounts. Mr. Davis formally retired from KPMG in 2004.
Mr. Davis is currently a board member and audit committee chair for a venture capital backed, Silicon Valley company in the software applications market space. Mr. Davis is a CPA in California, New York and Ohio. He also holds a BA in History/Political Science from Butler University, a BS in Accounting from Arizona State University and a Masters in Business Taxation from the University of Southern California. He has served on multiple charity, non-profit and industry association boards during his career including: American Institute of CPA’s, California and New York CPA Societies; Meals on Wheels; Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee and the Boys and Girls Club.
Lawrence Greaves - President & Co-Founder
Mr. Greaves co-founded Etonien LLC. Etonien offers experienced finance and accounting consultants to companies seeking assistance on a project, interim or interim-to-hire assignment - with a special focus on Interim CFO and Interim Controllers. Etonien is founded on the basic principle of providing highly qualified professionals to clientele who require immediate response. Etonien also provides employees - both internally and market facing - an opportunity to work with diverse organizations by implementing their skills to effect change. Etonien is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.
Prior to founding Etonien, LLC, Mr. Greaves was a Practice leader of Tatum LLC which he joined by way of acquisition of Spinnaker Financial. Tatum has nearly 1000 partners and principals in 37 offices across the country. Immediately after the acquisition, Mr. Greaves continued to concentrate on growing the Orange County (California) practice for the Controller Services division. Mr. Greaves was asked to start and become the Practice leader for the Controller Services division of Tatum’s Los Angeles practice. During the next sixteen months, Mr. Greaves produced the fastest growing and most profitable Controller Services division for Tatum’s national practice whilst serving on Tatum’s firm wide leadership concurrently. To date - he is the youngest firm-wide leader elected in Tatum’s history.
In May 2005, Mr. Greaves relocated from London to Irvine where he was recruited by Alliance Resource Group (ARG) in Orange County, California. ARG provides project and interim consulting in the areas of Accounting & Finance. Mr. Greaves was recruited to manage and develop the consulting practice of this boutique firm selling directly to Fortune 1000 and rapid growth companies. Spinnaker Financial became a spin-off of ARG and continued in similar business activities. Mr. Greaves was part of the successful spin-off of Spinnaker Financial which was later acquired by Tatum, LLC.
Mr. Greaves was educated at the University of Westminster’s Harrow Business School, London England and is a Certified Business Manager from the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Mary Ellen Weaver - Chief Advisor
Mary Ellen Weaver was the co-founder in 1985 of Data Processing Resources Corporation (DPRC), an information technology staffing company located in Newport Beach, California. In 1994, she purchased her colleague’s stake in the company and brought in a professional management team to help groom the company for a public offering. She took the company public in March 1996 and during the next three years, DPRC made numerous acquisitions growing revenues from $50 Million to $410 Million. With more than 33 offices nationwide, DPRC was purchased by Compuware Corporation, a Detroit, Michigan software and staffing company, in August 2000.
During her tenure as chairman and CEO of DPRC, the company was named as one of the fastest-growing public companies in the IT sector, the largest public company in Orange County, California with a female chairman, and the second largest Orange County public company with a female CEO.
Mary Ellen has been featured in BusinessWeek Magazine, was awarded the Pioneer Woman of the Year in 1998 by the National Association of Women Business Owners, was recognized on different occasions by the Orange County Business Journal for their Women in Business Awards as well as one of the 50 most influential business people in Orange County, and was selected for a Women of Excellence Award.
Her career in staffing began in 1977 with Thomas Temporaries, a general temporary staffing company. She also was employed by EG&G and XXCAL. Prior to entering the staffing market, Mary Ellen was a Speech and Language Pathologist for Battle Creek Public Schools. She graduated in 1973 from Central Michigan University.
Mary Ellen came out of retirement in 2004 starting M.E. Weaver & Associates (MEWA) where she currently serves as CEO. MEWA ia a Newport Beach based firm that specializes in traditional and Clinical IT Healthcare staffing.
Mary Ellen currently lives in Huntington Beach, California with her husband Matt and two sons. She spends much of her time volunteering for the local school district and various activities that her children are involved in. Mary Ellen currently
Etonien, LLC was founded in 2008 by a leadership team that believed there was a way to bridge the gap between a transactional staffing firm and the traditional corporate employment path to allow Accounting & Finance professionals a way to provide their skills and experience to a wide range of clients through project, interim and interim-to-hire assignments.
